Megaman ZX Revive Chapter 73

Aton and I were facing each other without moving an inch. Then one of his floating balls suddenly glowed brightly and a sword materialized in his hand. For that I guessed they are support units  to give him every weapon he wants. Then he stormed at me. Our swords clashed and I was really surprised how bad his fighting style was. I could block each of his attacks and used an opportunity to cut his arm off. Or at least I thought I would…

As my saber hit the arm it just bounced off. I also saw a sort of green light on the spot. This only means that he has an energy absorbing shield. And since my weapons mostly based on energy technology they are useless against him. This explains now why Drikat lost to him. It wasn't a shield I could penetrate with my buster. Without that I only had my fists, which I fully intended to use.

But my saber will be still active to block his attacks. And I was in need of it! He attacked without thinking and it took a while until I saw an opportunity and punched his stomach.

He let go of his sword and grabs his stomach from the hit. But in the meanwhile two of his orbs suddenly have gun weapons and shoot at me. I hid behind a table as I threw myself on the ground and dragged Drikat over. Then I grab my buster and shoot at these. It didn't surprise me that these orbs have the shield as well but I kinda hoped that I was wrong in this case.

Aton recovered from the hit and began to walk over to me while his orbs stopped firing. This time he had a massive axe in his hands and began to swung it. I jumped to avoid it but at the same time I wonder how I should keep myself from being hit and protect Drikat. He cannot fight in this state.

Suddenly Drikat groaned and struggled to his feet. Aton turned his face to him and he admitted "Never thought you would be able to stand up again!"

"This… isn't… the only… surprise!" growled Drikat and jumped suddenly at Aton's spheres. He got hold of one and bites it with all of his remaining strength. The white Reploid tried to stop Drikat but he found my fist in the side of his helm, because he forgot to pay more attention towards me.

The orb began to crack and finally split apart from the bite power of Drikat jaw. On the other hand the price was high. Drikats jaw was now cracked as well and his power core must be low since he was lying very weak on the ground and even the eyes are flickering weakly, indicating that not enough energy exist for glow them up.

The force of my punch brought also some results. The helm had now a crack and a bit of the visor split away. I could see a blue colored eye behind the hole.

A chuckle came from Aton "I admit I am impressed! You managed to damage me and your lousy Dracoloid destroyed one of my Bio-Orbs! But now it is time to destroy you!"

Suddenly I was electrocuted from one of the remaining orbs and couldn't move as Aton raised his axe to cut me into half. But suddenly he groaned loudly and let the weapon fell, causing it to dematerialize.

"What… what… what is going on!" he screamed and holds his helm in pain. The orbs stopped operating and I fell on my knees.

I panted loudly but saw my opening now. While Aton groaned for some reasons I stand up and got my Knuckle ready. Then I reached out and hit his face, causing the entire visor of the helm to splitter. He lands on his back while the pieces flew everywhere.

He covered his face with a hand as he stands up groaned and screams more. As he used both hands to hold his head, I could finnaly see his face.

And by that I was shocked. It was Daniels face! Covered with cuts because of the broken Visor but still his face!

While I was unable to move in the shock a computerized voice suddenly called out "Emergency code 14-Z is activated! All units are ordered to retreat and take Aton back to operation base! Repeat. All units retreat and take Aton back to operation base!"

I heard several noised that told me that everybody was teleporting out. The orbs formed a ring around Daniel and I wanted to step in as the reploid was already teleported out.

Then the orbs exploded and I could only cover my face as the explosion reaches me.

After everything died down I weakly stand up and saw myself heavily damaged but I was still operate able. I looked for Drikat and found out that some of his limbs are missing. I opened the hatch above his core and linked it with my core. To my luck Drikat had enough energy to stay active as I connected his system with my energy core.

I looked around and found a damaged exterior core. After a quick check I found out it was still in a shape to work and put it into Drikat system to not trouble my own core longer then nessescary.

Then Ciel contacted me and I told her she has to pick Drikat and me up. She insist to tell her what is going on but I only told her that everybody needs to hear the news from me when all are gathered.

Then I turned off and sat down. This will be a hard talk with unknown resolution…
